Green Diamond

A 2.52 carat vivid green diamond, the largest ever to appear at auction, was sold at the Sotheby’s “Magnificent Jewels” auction held mid-November in Geneva. Weighing 2.52 carats, the diamond price was estimated at $3.08 Million, setting a new world record for being the highest price paid per carat for a green diamond.

Natural green diamonds get their colour due to exposure to radiation. These are one the rarest diamonds in the world. Their value is determined by the vividness of their hue.
