Hot shot CA Pooja Bhatt may be a boss lady at work, but it is her mom who calls the shots at home! 
Grit, determination and ambition could well be Chennai-based CA, Pooja Bhatt’s motto. The 25-year-old’s current role as a Senior Finance Executive with an UN agency is the manifestation of a life-long dream, one that she has worked hard to realize. Pooja knew she wanted to become a Chartered Accountant ever since she was in high school, and the challenging profession didn’t deter her from this big dream. “I joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, quit college in the beginning of my second semester and interned with PKF Shridar & Santanam, a well known CA firm in Chennai, for about three-and-a-half-year,” she reminisces about her journey. “Pooja cleared all her CA papers in her first attempt!” her beaming mother chips in proudly. It’s work, work and more work for the busy bee all through the week, but you won’t hear her complaining! “I like to end my long work days with something yummy whipped up by my mom and then hit the sack,” she tells us. What about her weekend soirees, we wonder? The reserved lady tells us she prefers the company of a few really close friends to the hullabaloo of a large group. Pooja also loves travelling, reading and running in her free time. “Plovdiv, Bulgaria and Udaipur, Rajasthan are my favourite destinations. I am currently reading ‘The Pregnant King’ by Devdutt Pattanaik,” she adds. 
As far as her sartorial choices are concerned, Pooja (she has a particular penchant for shoes and watches) is happy to submit to her mother’s choice. A mumma’s girl through and through, most of her wardrobe is picked out by her mum. “I am most comfortable in simple dresses. As far as jewellery is concerned, I prefer minimal pieces, generally danglers, hoop earrings and statement rings,” she tells us before signing off.
