Our favourite celebrities turned up all frosted. There’s no denying it—the Oscars are the Queen Bee of all red carpet events. So can you blame us for waking up earlier (than usual) to catch all the action, live, as it unfolded in real time? The gowns galore aside, what definitely caught (or should we say blinded?) our eyes, was the sea of diamonds adorning our favourite leading ladies! In the spirit of maximal fashion, more was definitely more, this year. And diamond-studded bling was the clear winner, with no runner-up in sight. Leading the pack were homegirl Priyanka Chopra and pop icon Lady Gaga. The former was spotted in 50-carat drop earrings featuring round and pear-shaped diamonds (worth $3.2 million) and an army of solitaire rings (read: 22-carat diamond rings, a 10-carat diamond pinky ring and an 8-carat diamond bypass ring) to match. The latter made headlines with her 90-carat Lorraine Schwartz emerald-cut drop earrings that were estimated at $8 million! Her heart-shaped engagement ring continued to cause envy as well. 
Other celebrities dripping in diamonds included Heidi Klum in 20-carat white and pink diamond pave triangle stud earrings, Chrissy Teigen flaunting 20-carat champagne diamond studs and champagne diamond rings totaling 42 carats, Charliez Theron in a long Harry Winston diamond pendant, Naomi Watts in a look-at-me Bulgari diamond necklace, and Reese Witherspoon in stacked Tiffany’s tennis bracelets and oversized marquise diamond stud earrings among others. Statement diamond earrings easily emerged as the trend du jour and some of the top fashionistas to jump onto the bandwagon included Kate Winslet, Kerry Washington, Julianne Moore and Rachel McAdams.
