It’s that time of the year again…the festival of colours is here! With Holi upon, we can’t wait to be drenched in colour — how about you?
All you lovely people out there, have you got your Holi plans sorted yet? Is it a rain dance party you’re headed to or are you just bhang-ing it up with friends? Or maybe this is finally the year you lay low and go eco-friendly, with dry or no colours at all? We for one love our colours (really, are you surprised?) and are psyched to paint the town red, green, blue…and then some more! 
As legend has it, Holi is the triumph of good over evil. There really is no time as vibrant as Holi. The weather is just about warm and everyone craves those splashes of water or smack of bursting balloons. So what should one wear, you ask? Well, white of course! When else will you get the chance to live your Yash Chopra heroine fantasy! Watching your pristine white salwar turn into a multi-hued piece of art is what this festival is all about anyway. Which brings us to the most important question; do you have a favourite colour? Do hues of pink please you just as they please us? Blue on the other hand is a constant favourite — be it turquoise or sapphire, it is always a la mode! Springtime naturally calls for a happy yellow or maybe red. But apart from being a wardrobe staple, each colour has its own tale to tell. The mighty black is a symbol of power whereas it’s no secret white depicts purity. While green has the contradictory traits of jealousy and prosperity, they don’t call one blue-blooded for nothing. Red stands for celebration, festivity and fervour. So we say, as you embrace a dash of colour this Holi, do so in all its symbolic glory.
