Eros Cinema
Constructed in 1938, this cream coloured movie theatre is one of the most stunning buildings in Mumbai, and has been a major inspiration for our Bombay Deco collection. The structure features a rising facade and a cylindrical minaret which is transformed into rings, bangles, earrings and pendants.
Liberty Cinema
The structure was built in 1947 and the founder, Habib Hoosein, named it “Liberty” to celebrate India’s Independence. The intricate grill detailing and the glorious turret contribute to the beauty of Liberty Cinema. The jewellery designs embody the allure of these exquisite elements which are transformed into stud earrings and danglers.
Metro Cinema
Built and originally run by the Hollywood studio of MGM, Metro Cinema showcased only Hollywood movies until the 1970s. The Cinema exudes elegance with its stunning murals and an ornate chandelier. The collection features earrings and bracelets inspired by the stepped tower of the cinema.
Regal Cinema
The Regal Cinema was constructed in the 1930s, right when the film industry was booming all over Mumbai. The Regal Cinema has a minimalistic yet distinctive facade which is borrowed to design a necklace, ring, bracelet and, drop earrings.
Empress Court
This splendid structure reflects an unerring symmetry of nautical elements and geometrical patterns. A fabulous pair of earrings and a cocktail ring are derived from the top view of the structure. The symmetry of the building has influenced the design of a pendant, a pair of earrings and, a ring.
Mumbai has over 300 Art Deco structures hidden in plain sight. The curvilinear balcony of Pai House has inspired a streamlined bangle while the captivating motifs along the entrance of the Bella Court are transformed into a beautiful pair of drop earrings. Drawing inspiration from such beautiful Art Deco elements, we have crafted the Bombay Deco collection as a Tribute to the Mumbai We Love!
