Laughter can solve just about anything.
The age-old adage that proclaims laughter to be the best medicine doesn’t lie. After all, laughter never fails to give one a way out of certain awkward and painful situations that nobody else could help you with. The next time any of these incidents happen to you, you’ll know to flash those pearly whites and get away with it!
When you’re having a pointless fight
We’ve all been in one too many pointless fights with our partners—trivial things like not shutting the cupboard door or not walking the dog on their turn. In retrospect, it all seems pretty silly, but they have the potential to turn into a full-blown argument. The best way to prevent it? Start laughing mid-fight. Laughter is contagious, and before you know it, the fight will be history.
When you’ve had a long day
Long days spell stress, and what better way to relieve all of it by laughing it off? Laughter is known to release the feel-good juices in your body. So watch a funny movie, read a joke, or sit down with your boo for a laugh, and watch all the tiredness float away with the sounds of your giggles.
When you’re late:
Kept your girlfriend waiting for an hour, or left your boyfriend hanging because you took too long to get ready? Arm yourself with a joke when you finally meet them, and make them laugh. You’ll be forgiven!
On a first date:
First dates can cause some serious stress for both parties—impressing the other and showing them your best side is difficult and extremely exhausting. If a date isn’t going as well as expected, or if there are too many awkward silences, recall a funny incident and tell it to the other person. Your shared hilarity will definitely break the ice!
When you forget to run errands:
Everybody hates errands, but when the significant other tells you to pick up milk and eggs on your way back home, you’ve got to do it! So what happens when you (inevitably) forget? Just flash a smile, make up an outrageously funny reason for forgetting and get her to laugh.
When you get caught eating your sweetheart’s food:When someone reserves food in the fridge, they mean business. But when you just can’t stop yourself from having a bite (or ten) out of your husband’s share of biryani, you are bound to get caught. At this point, only laughing with your face full of biryani will save you from his wrath.
When you meet your significant other’s parents:
We’ve all felt it—that impending feeling of dread before meeting the parents for the first time. They look at you with suspicion, and you look at them with fear, and really more often than not, you end you doing or saying something embarrassing. Laugh it right off; it’s the only thing that will help you all get along.
