Because a single day isn’t enough to commemorate the ladies in our life! Timothy Leary once said, “Women who seek to be equal to men lack ambition.” We couldn’t agree more. Gone are the days when a woman’s job was to stay holed up in the kitchen. Today’s woman is an all-rounder – running her own business, paying her own bills, making her own sandwiches, buying her own wine and gifting herself diamonds. She doesn’t need a man to make her happy and lives life on her own terms. Say hello to the new-age super woman. One, who, we at CaratLane believe should be celebrated ever single day without any exception. We bring you six leading Bollywood celebrities who echo our opinion, and rightly so. 1. Amitabh Bachchan: “A woman dedicates every day of her life.” Trust the Bollywood legend to dole out some sound wisdom. Women don’t take a break, but relentlessly dedicate every single day of their life to fulfilling their duties. So it only makes sense to applaud her everyday, doesn’t it now? 2. Varun Dhawan: “One lifetime isn’t enough to celebrate women.” The Bollywood heartthrob was quick to point out that when a lifetime is not enough to celebrate women, what chance does one single day have! And considering the unsafe times we live in, he also emphasised the importance of treating the fairer sex with respect. 3. Farah Khan: “Get Lost!” Trust the no-holds-barred director and choreographer to say it like it is. We wouldn’t expect anything less from her to be honest! She lashes out against those reducing a women’s strength to just one day, in her mildest best, that is! 4. Karan Johar: “Men just need a tight slap!” Now we already know that our favourite Bollywood director is a mamma’s boy and is BFFs with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Being surrounded by such strong personalities has made him well aware that women don’t really need to celebrate their strength and power. They know who they are! Men, on the other hand, really need to straighten up their act according to him. We agree! 5. Sonakshi Sinha: “We have the power to make every day our day!” Sonakshi Sinha seems to be all for the carpe diem school of thought. She took to Twitter to urge her fellow ladies to seize every day and make it count. Who cares for just one date on a calendar of 365 days, right? 6. Sophie Choudry: “Ladies, you deserve love and respect every day!” Songstress Sophie Choudry encouraged women to recognise their own worth and was all for girl power! And while celebrating women is all good, she believes loving and respecting the fairer sex everyday is even more important! As for us, we believe that whether it’s the homemaker or the busy professional, the girl next door or the dazzling diva; women indeed make the world go round. It’s time we woke up to that fact every single morning! Find out more about our #EveryDayIsWomensDay campaign here.
